São denominados exames complementares todos aqueles exames realizados pelos colaboradores e que auxiliam o médico na elaboração de um diagnóstico no momento da conclusão do Atestado de Saúde Ocupacional (ASO).
Na prática da medicina do trabalho eles ocupam uma dimensão importante, pois nem sempre os pacientes/funcionários apresentam queixas, uma vez que se trata de uma medicina preventiva, ou seja, a doença precisa ser detectada em sua fase inicial ou pré-clínica.
